| Each bay contains the following set of physical samplers:
| 496 soil Prenart SuperQuartz water samplers
| 141 custom PTFE soil gas samplers
| 24 custom atmospheric gas samplers
| |||
| |||
| All sensors and samplers are named according to their physical location within the landscape. The current convention is "up slope _ cross slope _ depth _ type". The up slope location is the physical distance, in meters, from the down stream drainage wall. The cross slope location is the physical distance, in meters, from an imaginary center line (equidistant from the edges of the structure). The depth is an integer level designation. The depth levels are as follows:
| depth 1 = 5 cm from the surface (95 cm from the deck)
| depth 2 = 20 cm from the surface (80 cm from the deck)
| depth 3 = 35 cm from the surface (65 cm from the deck)
| depth 4 = 50 cm from the surface (50 cm from the deck)
| depth 5 = 85 cm from the surface (15 cm from the deck)
| |||
| During sensor placement, measurements were actually taken from the surface of the deck (not the surface of the soil).
